Dr. Rick Daugherty

Rick is a 1980 and 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in animal science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He grew up in Wooster, Ohio where his family ran a feed and fertilizer business as well as crop and hog farm. He spent 2 years practicing in Ashtabula County before purchasing the Sugarcreek Veterinary Clinic in 1985. Rick is married to wife, Bette, who also acts as the bookkeeper for the clinic. They enjoy spending time with their son, Bill, his wife, Casey, and their three grandchildren, Harper, Cole, and Olivia.

Dr. Jim Honigford

Jim is a 1990 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he also earned a B.S. in Animal Science. Jim played basketball at Ohio State from 1983 to1986. He joined the veterinary team at the Sugarcreek Veterinary Clinic in 1990. He and his wife, Celeste have four children together, Lauren, Paul, Clay, and Joel. Jim enjoys gardening, boating and spending time with his wife and children.

Dr. Shane Donley

Shane graduated from the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, and began working at the Sugarcreek Veterinary Clinic shortly afterward. He currently resides in Fresno, Ohio. He has 2 children, Baillie and Wyatt. He enjoys spending time with immediate family and church family at Chili Crossroads Bible Church. Other interests are outdoor activities.

Dr. Aimee Clay

Aimee is a 2013 graduate from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She attended Kent State University for her undergraduate degree in Zoology. Aimee was born and raised in Jewett, Ohio. After vet school, she practiced for one year in her hometown before transitioning to Sugarcreek Veterinary Clinic in 2014. Her special interests include ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys hiking, camping, and skiing.

Dr. Brandon Michels

Brandon grew up in Uhrichsville, Ohio. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The College of Wooster in 2010 and his DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Dr. Michels worked as a large animal ambulatory veterinarian in northern Wayne County for three years before continuing his career at the Sugarcreek Veterinary Clinic in 2016. His professional interests include dairy herd health, reproduction, transition disease management, and large animal surgery. Outside of medicine, he enjoys woodworking, scuba diving, and outdoor activities. He and his wife, Elizabeth, married in 2013 and have two boxers, Toby and Paisley.

Dr. Lauren Malenke

Lauren is a 2014 graduate of the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Vermont and attained her undergraduate degree at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina. Lauren practiced veterinary medicine in Coshocton County prior to transitioning to Sugarcreek Veterinary Clinic in 2016. In addition to practicing traditional veterinary medicine, she enjoys using acupuncture to help all species obtain pain relief and increased performance. In her spare time, Lauren has been married to husband, Aaron since 2010. She enjoys horseback riding, mountain biking, working on her small farm, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Luke Morrow

Luke is a 2016 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from OSU in Animal Sciences and Ruminant Nutrition. Luke grew up on a beef cattle farm in McConnelsville, Ohio and showed beef cattle in FFA and 4-H. He moved to Sugarcreek in 2016 with his wife Mary Beth and son, James. Mary Beth is a registered veterinary technician but is currently a stay at home mom. Together, Mary Beth and Luke raise assistance dogs for Canine Companions for Independence. Luke also enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and completing home projects.

Dr. Heidi Woodruff

Dr. Aaron Pospisil

Dr. Aaron grew up in Centerburg, OH. He attended The Ohio State University for undergrad where he received his B.S. in Biology in 2013 and also for veterinary school, graduating in 2017. Dr Aaron and his wife, Melissa currently live in New Philadelphia with their cat, Adelaide. Dr. Aaron's interests include small animal medicine and dairy medicine, especially mastitis control and parlor analysis.

Amy Zahner

Amy grew up on her family's dairy farm in Fresno, Ohio. After graduating from Garaway High School, she began working at the SVC in 1991. Later that year, she married her husband,Todd. They have two children, Ashton and Kurt. They also have three dogs, and a duck who considers himself a dog as well. She enjoys spending time in her many perennial gardens and cooking for friends and family.

Rachel Kirkpatrick

Rachel was raised in Dundee, Ohio and attended Garaway High School. She has been working for SVC since 2005 and is studying to be a Veterinary Technician through Penn Foster. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, Primus and Ensemble, reading, spending time with friends and family and being outdoors.

Tammy Snyder

has been on staff at SVC since 2008. She has four children, with a current extended family consisting of two horses, two dogs, and three cats. She graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Kent State Tuscarawas in 2009. She says, "My passion for animals leads me to encourage a more rewarding bond with our animals through education and understanding."

Shelley Recchiuti

Shelley graduated from Indian Valley North and attended Kent State Tusc. She graduated in 2011 and got her Associate degree in applied Science of Veterinary Technology. Shelley has been working for SVC for 2 years now. She has been married for 18 years and has 3 children. She also has 2 dogs and 2 rabbits. In her spare time she enjoys camping, spending time with her friends and family and crocheting.

Nicole Kellish

graduated from Ridgewood High School in 2011. After school she attended Kent State University for Veterinary Technician and graduated in 2014. In her spare time she breeds and shows Hereford cattle and enjoys spending time with her Catahoula Leopard dog "Monte" and her horse "Mya"

Andrea Schlabach

Andrea has been working here at SVC since 2004. Her main job is to take care of the CWD paperwork for deer. In her spare time she loves to attend truck and tractor pulls with her husband, Tim, as well as participating in the diesel truck class. She also enjoys working with flowers for special occasions. Andrea has been in 4-H for 11 years, and a 4-H advisor since 2004.

Ashton Metheny

Ashton graduated in 2011 from Garaway High School. She started working here in November of 2012. She lives in Fresno with her husband Doug and 3 dogs, Millie, Reese and Harper. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, photography, coaching softball and doing anything outdoors.

Lauren Sharma

After graduating from Cornerstone University in 2012, with a BA in Public Relations, Lauren decided to pursue her love of travel. She lived in South Korea and India, and has visited over 10 countries around the world. She was married to Aditya, her fellow adventurer and best friend, in October 2016. Lauren currently mans the front desk at the clinic.

Ashley Stutzman

Ashley graduated from Garaway High School in 2009 and started working at the clinic in 2016. She resides in Dover with her husband Clint, and 2 dogs, Rocky and Chev. In her spare time she loves spending time outside and enjoys time with her family and friends.

Martha Ohler

Martha graduated from Garaway High School in 2011 and started working at the clinic in October 2017. She lives in Midvale with her husband Woodrow, son Nikolas and 2 dogs Martin and Jake. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Katy Pretorius

Katy grew up in Dover, Ohio. She attended Dover High School and later studied Veterinary Technology at Brown Mackie College. She has been working at SVC since 2015. Katy and her family have a dog named Rosko and a cat named Lola. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors. Katy works as a registered small animal technician at the clinic.
